Bona men end first day in second place

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The men's swimming and diving team finished in second place after the first day of the 2010 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championship.  The Bonnies earned 87 points, putting them behind Massachusetts who leads the scoreboard with 149 points. 

In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of sophomore Peter Koenig and juniors Kevin Murphy, David Kundzik, and Jared Robinson took third place with a collective time of 1:34.34. 

The 800-yard freestyle relay team also took third.  Freshman Ethan Rowan, sophomore Mike Dansa, and juniors Chris Baker and Murphy swam a combined time of 7:38.18.

In 1-meter diving, freshman Mike Murphy also picked up a third-place finish for the Brown and White, scoring 273.3 points.

The championships continue Thursday morning at the Flickinger Athletic Center with trials at 10:30 a.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m.
