Reed Recognized As One Of The Best In The A-10
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Sophomore James Reed has been recognized by Top Drawer Soccer as one of college soccer's players to watch when he was named to the Atlantic 10 Top 20 Player ranking on Monday.
Reed checks in at No. 11 on the conference list, as the St. Charles, Ill. product leads the entire A-10 in goals (five) and points (11). Additionally, he ranks tied for fourth in the league with one game-winning goal, a strike which came last Wednesday in a 2-1 win against Cleveland State University.
He is having a breakout second-year campaign as the midfielder scored just two goals as a freshman for four points in 19 games. Furthermore, he has already surpassed his attempted shot total from last year (16 in 2010, 20 in 2011) while having increased his shot-on-goal percentage (37.5% in 2010, 45% in 2011).
Reed and the Bonnies wrapped up their non-conference slate with a 1-1 tie against Cornell on Monday. The club will begin its A-10 docket next Friday, Oct. 7, in a night contest opposite Duquesne.
