St. Bonaventure Announces Partnership With Get Real Sports

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure University Department of Athletics officials announced Tuesday a partnership with Get Real Sports Sales (GRSS), an industry leader in strategic ticket marketing and selling operations.

Get Real Sports will focus its efforts on ticket sales and service for St. Bonaventure men's and women's basketball teams. Two GRSS representatives – exclusively dedicated to St. Bonaventure – will be contacting Bona fans and supporters to sell season tickets and mini-plans on the department's behalf.

SBU will utilize many of Get Real Sports cutting-edge approaches and product lines, including both traditional and digital ticket sales tools. GRSS is one of the first companies to specialize in outsourcing ticket sales – a rapidly growing trend in collegiate sports.

"We have set high goals for men's and women's basketball ticket sales, and we feel confident that Get Real Sports will help us realize those expectations," said Steve Mest '91, Associate Athletic Director for External Relations. "Our two representatives have spent time on our campus and become familiar with our teams, our community, our alumni base and the Atlantic 10 Conference.

"The Get Real Sports staff is integrated with our ticket office staff to implement a new, proactive approach which best serves customers and promotes the St. Bonaventure brand," Mest continued. "The end goal is to create the best possible atmosphere in the Reilly Center on game nights, and Get Real Sports will be a big part of that effort."

Despite the partnership with Get Real Sports, members of the St. Bonaventure athletic department, including those in the ticket office, will continue to call season ticket holders. The partnership with Get Real Sports is meant to supplement the athletic department's efforts while simultaneously interacting with a new target audience.

St. Bonaventure is the most recent partnership for Get Real Sports, which since March 2011 has formed successful collegiate partnerships with Xavier University, Butler University, Iowa State University, Wright State University and Loyola University. GRSS not only works with universities but also partners with professional sports organizations, including: the Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Reds, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Minnesota Timberwolves and the PGA Tour.

"Get Real Sports is extremely excited about the opportunity to work alongside St. Bonaventure in order to plan and execute an expansive sales campaign designed to increase attendance and create a great fan experience within the Reilly Center," said Jake Vernon, President of Get Real Sports. "We are committed to bringing our expertise in ticket sales, database marketing, online sales and sales management to this partnership and help St. Bonaventure achieve and surpass its goals."
