Friday Focus: Youssou Ndoye, Men's Basketball

As a new addition to the Bonnies this season, Youssou Ndoye will be able to help the men's basketball team immensely. With a wingspan of 7-2 (86"), Ndoye was rated 78 overall out of 85 centers by ESPNU College Basketball Recruiting. Leading his high school team to a 27-1 record with 23 consecutive wins, Ndoye hopes to lead the Bonnies in the same way. Get to know Ndoye off the basketball court!

1.) What is your class year and major?
         
I am a freshman French and sociology major.

2.) Why did you choose to play basketball?
         
I chose to play basketball because I was born into a family where everyone played sports. And my mom was also a basketball player.

3.) Is there a quote or a saying you try to live your life by?
         
Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure.

4.) If you could do anything after college, what kind of job would you like to have?
         
After college, I want to keep playing ball. I would love to work with people in the basketball world.

5.) What is your favorite food to eat?
         
Steak

6.) What is the best memory you have of playing basketball?
          Playing at the all-star game at the NBA camp in South Africa

7.) What is one fun fact someone wouldn't know about you?
         
I am a funny guy when you get to know me.

8.) If you had the opportunity to travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
         
I'd go to France because I want to visit my brother who I haven't seen in 10 years.

9.) What do you think are some good attributes an athlete should have?
         
Commitment and discipline

10.) If you had to describe yourself in just a few words, how would you describe yourself?
          I am humble person. I love people, and I like joking around.
