Demitrius Conger Selected to GSA All-Star Team

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure junior men's basketball player Demitrius Conger has been chosen as a member of the Global Sports Academy Select/All-Star team, which will train, compete and tour in Europe August 2-10.

The eight-day trip features matchups against international teams Generali Okapi Aalstar 2, Schwelmer, Waregem, Melsele and Pitzemburg 2 in addition to sightseeing and cultural excursions to Belgium, Germany and London.

Conger averaged 10.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last season while starting all 31 games. The Brooklyn native also converted 40.4 percent of his 3-point attempts to help lead SBU to its first winning season and postseason appearance since 2001-02.

In addition to Conger, the GSA roster includes G/F Timothy McKinney (Bryant); G Jason Brickman (LIU); guards Kyle and Cory Stockmal (NYU); G Kurt Dutcher (Elmira) and C Jim Janson (Le Moyne). Rich Glesmann of Long Island University will serve as head coach for the squad.

GSA is a not-for-profit organization participating in domestic and international competition since 1991. GSA was initially established to provide athletes overseas playing opportunities in Ice Hockey and it has grown to support a total of 12 different sports that compete in 25 different countries throughout the world.  Its mission is to arrange athletic competition between equally matched teams at all levels and to "Promote International Goodwill" and a better understanding between nations through sports.
