Nicholson Garners NABC All-District Honors

NABC Division I All-District Team

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. –
St. Bonaventure junior forward Andrew Nicholson has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District First Team.

Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America.  The 245 student-athletes, from 24 districts, are eligible for the State Farm Coaches' Division I All-America teams, to be announced on Saturday, April 2, at 9:30 a.m. (EDT) during the NABC Convention and NCAA Final Four.

Nicholson, a 6-foot-9 235 pound Mississauga, Ont. native, led the Atlantic 10 in scoring average during the regular season with 20.8 points per game. He paced the Bonnies in rebounding (7.4/game), blocks (44) and field goal percentage (.571) and his 11 double-doubles, including five consecutive, were also a team-high.

Nicholson sits in 13th on the school's all-time scoring list at 1,492 points. He is tied with Basketball Hall of Famer Bob Lanier on the program's career field goal percentage and holds the Bonnies single-season free throw attempts record (226), while ranking second all-time in blocked shots (180).

Nicholson tallied 30 points and 13 rebounds in last night's loss to La Salle in the Opening Round of the Atlantic 10 Championship, recording the highest-ever total by a St. Bonaventure player in the Atlantic 10 Championship in both categories.
