A-10 Men's Basketball Composite Schedule

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — The Atlantic 10 Conference has released the dates for its league games, with St. Bonaventure's slate highlighted by four television games and home-and-home pairings with Duquesne, Fordham and Rhode Island. Game times, with the exception of televised contests, are set by the home team and will be announced at a later date.

"It's a competitive schedule in the Atlantic 10" commented head coach Mark Schmidt on his team's lineup of conference games. "And the fact that we will get to play six games in the Reilly Center in front of our students is a great improvement."

The Bonnies, who end a challenging non-conference slate Jan. 5, return home to the Reilly Center for the A-10 opener against Charlotte Jan. 8.

Following the 49ers game, St. Bonaventure travels to Philadelphia to take on Temple (Jan. 12), which won the A-10 Championship advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season. The Bonnies then make their way to Rhode Island (Jan. 16) in the front end of the home-and-home series with the Rams and their first television game of the season. CBS College Sports Regional will carry four St. Bonaventure games in 2011, including the televised matchup with defending A-10 regular-season champion Xavier at the Reilly Center Jan. 19.

George Washington (Jan. 22) hosts the Brown and White before another home game opposite Massachusetts (Jan. 26). St. Bonaventure then visits Fordham (Jan. 29) and NIT champion Dayton (Feb. 2).

The Bonnies will enjoy the home court for four of their next five, playing host to Duquesne (Feb. 5), La Salle (Feb. 12), Saint Louis (Feb. 16) and Fordham (Feb. 23). The lone road contest in that stretch is against Richmond (Feb. 20) and will be carried by CBS College Sports Regional.

After back-to-back road games at Saint Joseph's (Feb. 26) and at Duquesne (Mar. 2), St. Bonaventure closes out the regular season with a televised home game against Rhode Island (Mar. 5).

The 2011 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Championship (Mar. 8-13) format will remain the same. The top 12 teams at the conclusion of the regular season will advance to the Championship, with the top four seeds earning byes. First round contests will be played on the campuses of teams seeded fifth-thru-eighth. The setting for the Championship then shifts to Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.

The finals of the 35^th annual Men's Basketball Championship will be held on Sunday, Mar. 13, and televised live at 1 p.m. on network CBS for the second consecutive year. Fans can reserve all-session tickets for the 2011 Championship by calling Boardwalk Hall at (609) 348-7021.

NOTES: The Brown and White went a combined 5-1 against 2011 travel partners Duquesne, Fordham and Rhode Island in 2009-10 … the Bonnies and Dukes met three times, culminating with an 83-71 St. Bonaventure win in the first round of the A-10 Tournament at the Reilly Center … St. Bonaventure swept Fordham for the first time since 1997-98 and picked up an 81-74 win over URI at the RC on Feb. 27.
