WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – North Dakota State jumped on top with early offense and never looked back on the way to a 10-0 win in seven innings over the St. Bonaventure baseball team Friday afternoon.
The Bison (7-6) scored three runs in the second, two crossing the plate as the result of a Bonnies error. In the second, two more runs came home on singles by Tucker Rohde and Danny Palmiscno for a 5-0 advantage.
That turned out to be more than enough as Bison pitching limited the Bonnies to three hits on the day. Starter Luke Lind (2-1) went the distance without walking a batter and striking out four.
Brandon Schlimm (0-2) got the start for the Bonnies with much of the damage coming in unearned fashion – just three of the 10 runs to score were earned against the Bona junior due to three errors. Schlimm fanned two in his six innings of work.
Senior Danny Urban made his first appearance on the hill for the Bonnies and struck out the side in the seventh.
The two teams have a pair of games remaining in their series with first pitch on Saturday slated for 2:30 p.m.
