ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure baseball team's home doubleheader scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, against the University at Buffalo has been postponed until Tuesday, April 16, due to expected snow, high winds and cold temperatures.
The Big 4 rivals will play two, 7-inning games beginning at 2 p.m. on April 16, with the second game to follow approximately 25 minutes after the first game's completion. With the games' postponement, it will mark 11 straight contests for the Bonnies that have been postponed, canceled or moved because of snow and cold temperatures.
Tuesday's forecast calls for a high temperature of 31 with sustained winds at 20-30 mph and occasional snow.
The Bonnies (7-12, 2-4 Atlantic 10 Conference) are coming off an A-10 series victory over Butler this past weekend as they lost the first contest of the three-game set on Saturday, but bounced back with a win in the second game of the doubleheader and concluded the series with a rubber-game triumph on Sunday. The games were originally scheduled to be played Thursday-Saturday, but were pushed back due to snow and cold temperatures.
Bonaventure will now return to action this weekend in Philadelphia against Saint Joseph's. However, the games do now count as A-10 contests. Both teams had their A-10 bye this weekend and mutually agreed to play a three-game non-conference series, beginning Friday and concluding Sunday.
