@BonniesBaseball Tuesday Doubleheader vs. Niagara Postponed
ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Due to winter weather, the St. Bonaventure baseball team's scheduled home-opening doubleheader against Niagara on Tuesday afternoon has been postponed.
The games will be made up at Fred Handler Park on Wednesday, May 1, with a single 9-inning contest beginning at 3 p.m.
Forecasters have predicted the storm could potentially drop 1-3 inches of snow on the Bonaventure campus Monday before turning over to a wintry mix and ice accumulation overnight and into Tuesday morning.
St. Bonaventure has played 13 non-conference neutral-site games in Florida and North Carolina to commence its season, going 5-8 in those contests, but winning its last two. Second baseman Jason Radwan ranks in the top-10 nationally with his .474 batting average as the senior is averaging more than two hits per game through the first quarter of the season.
The Bonnies are now scheduled to open the home and Atlantic 10 Conference portion of their 2013 schedule this weekend. However, snow and cold weather could impact that as well as temperatures are not expected to get out of the 30s all weekend.
