Baseball's Series Opener Thursday Postponed Due To Power Outage

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The St. Bonaventure baseball team's Thursday game, an Atlantic 10 Conference series-opener against Charlotte scheduled for 6 p.m., has been postponed due to an emergency power outage.

Officials at Duke Energy informed the 49ers that issues with switches at the Harrisburg substation – located just outside Charlotte – have necessitated a 5 p.m. outage on campus and the surrounding community, which will make operating the baseball facility impossible for a night game.

The two teams have agreed to play a Friday doubleheader at 3 p.m. with the hopes that no additional outages would be necessary. Game three of the series is still scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday.
