Out Of Bounds: April Fools Edition

Welcome to Out Of Bounds, a special mini-series that was hosted by then-SBU senior Shannon Shepherd to give Bonnies' fans a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of St. Bonaventure athletes during the 2011-12 year.

MEGAN VAN TATENHOVE

This week Shannon sat down with women's basketball senior Megan Van Tatenhove leading into the NCAA Tournament. The two discuss Van Tatenhove's roots growing up in Wisconsin, Favre or Rodgers, the worst pronounciation of her last name ever and her recent Ninja Turtle fanaticism.

EPISODE 15: A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP

This week Shannon put togehter a tribute video from the men's Atlantic 10 Championship run. It highlights the Bonnies three games at Boarwalk Hall and the 48 hours that followed the programs first A10 Chamionship win.

EPISODE 14: ANDREW NICHOLSON

This week Shannon got a chance to sit down with Atlantic 10 Player of the Year Andrew Nicholson. She finds out why he switched his major to Physics, and asked him what the Bonnies need to do to win the A-10 Championship. After the interview, Shannon stuck around the gym to help Charlon Kloof with some dunks.

EPISODE 13: MIKE MURPHY

This week Shannon took a break from Bob Lanier Court to interview junior diver Mike Murphy right before the start of the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships. Shannon, whose mother dove at Bona's in the 80s, had fun finding out how Mike got his start in diving, what his routine Hickey breakfast is and about a time a dive went wrong...ouch!

EPISODE 12: GAMESHOW

This week on Out of Bounds, Shannon had a double-dip with the proclaimed best friends on the men's and women's basketball teams. On the women's side, CeCe Dixon and Doris Ortega teamed up against the men's duo of Jordan Gathers and Youssou Ndoye in a game to see which pair of friends really knows each other better.

EPISODE 11: JESSICA JENKINS

Shannon went out of bounds and into a pile a shoes with the A-10's all-time leading 3-point shooter, Jessica Jenkins, in this week's episode. Find out just why exactly they're sitting amid a plethora of shoes, her thoughts on being the reigning A-10 Player of the Week and National Player of the Week and her future as a personal trainer.

EPISODE 10: DEMITRIUS CONGER
With school back in session, so is Out Of Bounds as Shannon sits down with men's basketball junior Demitrius Conger. The two discuss how Conger got his start playing basketball, his thoughts on his "Birdman" nickname and a similar love for Cap'n Crunch that they both share.

Plus, check out his new hair cut!

EPISODE 7: WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ALL-ACCESS
This week Shannon went completely out of bounds with the women’s basketball team, traveling with the team to Morgantown for a game against the West Virginia Mountaineers. Learn what the players do before the game, get an inside look at the pre-game scout, hear head coach Jim Crowley mic’d up and watch the team celebrate following a win over the Big East school.

EPISODE 2: KEVIN LEWIS

This week I got to meet up with Senior golfer Kevin Lewis. It was my first time visitIng Bartlett Country Club in Olean which also serves as the St. Bonaventure golf teams home course. It was a beautiful fall day! Before Kevin did this interview he walked me through the last three holes of the course, pointing out how he plays them. So check out this interview and learn some tips on the course from a veteran Bona golfer.

EPISIODE 1: EMMETT O'CONNOR

First up I got to sit down with Emmett O'Connor. And thanks to some nice fall weather we were able to chat it up on the McGraw-Jennings soccer field – in the soccer goal! Emmett is an extremely talented forward, one of the best in the Atlantic 10 Conference. After we shot this interview, Emmett scored the game-winning goal in overtime in a match against High Point this Sunday. This helped him nab A-10 Player of the Week Honors on Monday. On top of all this, today is his birthday! So check out this clip and learn some more about the life of one of the men’s soccer team’s rising stars.
