Danny Gianniny and Lauren Malcolm have earned selections as the GoBonnies.com Athletes of the Week presented by Valley View Dental.
Gianniny was a key part of the two victories for the Bonnies golf team this week, both at the Binghamton Intercollegiate as well as The Murray Cup.
In Binghamton, the Pittsford, N.Y. native finished tied for fourth in the field of 90 golfers by finishing 1-under for the tournament and just one of five golfers to break par. He helped the Bonnies take the overall team title against 16 other teams as the Brown and White battled down to the wire with Lehigh, eventually winning on a tiebreaker on Monday. His tie for fourth is his best finish in just four career tournaments.
The next day, Gianniny won both points in his head-to-head matchup with Jack Bellardini of Siena as the Bonnies captured the win against the Saints in the first-ever Murray Cup held outside Albany.
It is a continuation of a very impressive fall for the first-year Bonnie as he has shot an average score of 74.3 through 12 rounds thus far.
The Bonnies are back in action Oct. 19 in the Little Three Championship held at Niagara Falls Country Club in what will be the team's penultimate event of the fall schedule.
Malcolm continued to rise in the Bonnies career record books this week, becoming the fifth Bonnies goalkeeper to surpass 200 career saves in just her 32nd career start.
The Moon Township, Pa. native had six saves each against UMass and at George Washington last week, passing the 200-save mark in the contest Sunday at GW. For her career, she now has 205 saves including an Atlantic 10-best 82 stops so far this fall.
Malcolm has started all 32 games during her time with the program, playing over 2,900 minutes in net with a 1.97 goals against average.
Bonnies women's soccer returns to action Thursday at Fordham.
