Ways to Support St. Bonaventure Athletics
The St. Bonaventure Athletic Fund (BAF)
The BAF is the Department of Athletics’ annual fundraising
campaign, generating support for St. Bonaventure’s 14
intercollegiate sports programs. The campaign begins June 1 and
ends May 31 each year. Donors receive benefits at these thresholds:
$50 (Go Bonas), $250 (Brown and White), $750 (Bronze Bonnie),
$1,500 (Hall of Fame), $2,500 (Silver Bonnie) and $5,000 (Gold
Bonnie). Donations may be designated to the sport or sports of the
donor’s choice, or be given without a
designation.
In addition to a one-time gift, donors may also make
gifts via these methods:
• Recurring gifts (monthly, quarterly) by automatic withdrawals from bank accounts or charges to a credit or debit card. This allows donors the flexibility to fulfill their gift over a period of time that is comfortable for them.
• Gifts-In-Kind -- donors credited for market value of merchadise, equipment, etc., that is of value to the Athletics Department.
Sixth Man Club
The Sixth Man Club is the support arm of the men’s
basketball program. In order to become a member, donors make a
minimum annual donation of $5,000. Benefits to donors in 2010-11
include the option of traveling with the team on a road trip.
Women’s Basketball Backers
The Women’s Basketball Backers are the support arm of the
women’s basketball program. In order to become a member,
donors make a minimum annual donation of $500 to the BAF designated
to women’s basketball. For 2010-11, Women’s Basketball
Backers receive benefits of a team fleece or shirt (donor choice),
a private lunch with the coaching staff, two tickets to the
basketball banquet and invitations to pre-game "Coaches Chalk
Talks."
Endowments
The Athletic Department has two Endowments which may be
contributed to at any time. They are:
• The General Athletics Endowment. Begun in 2001 by Jim and Ann Gould ’80, this endowment benefits the entire Athletics Department.
• The Father Gerald McCaffrey Endowment. Begun in 2010 by Les Quick ’75 and his family, this endowment benefits the men’s basketball program.
Endowments may also be created at any time.
Scholarships
The ability of St. Bonaventure to extend financial assistance to
student-athletes allows us to attract the type of qualified
individuals we want - those who can best benefit from the
values-driven educational experience St.
Bonaventure offers. This helps keep us competitive in an
increasingly competitive environment.
Donors may contribute to any of the existing Athletics Scholarships. Or, a new scholarship can be created that suits the interests of the donor. Scholarships become a permanent tribute to the person whose name it bears. Scholarships can be created through a multi-year payment schedule.
